Who We Are

We are a research team from Georgia Tech, collaborating with the City of Peachtree Corners exploring how mobile technology and behavioral science can help people make healthier and more sustainable travel choices.

This project is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and is focused on tackling everyday challenges like traffic congestion, air pollution, and related public health impacts by encouraging smarter, cleaner ways to get around.

The Field Experiment

We’re conducting a real-world field experiment right here in Peachtree Corners, where over 300 residents will use the TranSACT app during a 12-week study. The goal is to understand how small nudges—like helpful messages or progress tracking—can shift travel habits toward options like walking, biking, or transit.

By reducing the number of solo car trips, we aim to:
🚶 Improve individual and community health
🚗 Reduce traffic congestion on local roads
🌬️ Lower air pollution and improve local air quality
